Campaign: 2022 General Donations
Candy Johnson Memorial
Candy’s story began on September 15, 1948. In high school, she was captain of her basketball and volleyball teams. She was a power scorer at 5’7”. She encouraged her son, Dan, to explore basketball and football and even allowed him to install a basketball rim over the garage. Candy enjoyed sports and especially liked watching the Dallas Cowboys, even after their storybook successes faded. When she was hospitalized for a stroke and a visit was planned, she asked Gloria and Bill to bring photos of us competing in races because that was one of the things she regretted not being able to witness. Candy loved supporting Hope Water International. She flew up to MI from Dallas one year to attend a HWI pep rally and to watch her grandchildren while mom and dad went off to race.
She generously donated to fundraising campaigns and supported HWI from afar. Candy also lived her life giving to others, with her time or with her finances. In the same generous spirit, donating in Candy’s memory will in-turn enable her legacy to keep helping the people in Africa with access to clean water for generations; and for them to hear about Jesus and have the opportunity to have access to the Living Water for eternity.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
her children, Gloria Clark and Dan Garcia
