I've never considered myself a runner/long distance walker, but after hearing stories about the people in Africa having to walk long distances for a basic need like water, training for a half marathon is the least I can do to help them. I wanted to participate is this last year, but I didn't want to come out of my comfort zone with what training for a marathon entails. I know that with the strength from God, my family, friends and new HWI friends, I will be able to push past the bad days, long runs/walk, hot/cold days and sore muscles to help these people. I hope that you will join me on this journey and donate towards my goal of bringing clean water to the people of Africa.
Thanks in advance
