Ted & Joanne Mulder

Did you know that you are never more than six miles from a body of water if you are in Michigan?
It's true: In Michigan you're never more than a few minutes away from some kind of water, whether it's a river, a lake, or one of the Great Lakes.

Did you know that in Kenya or Sierra Leone people walk that far to try to find water and if they do, it is anything but clean or fresh. Water-related diseases are responsible for 80% of all illnesses and deaths in the developing world. 1 Billion people draw their water from unsafe sources.

The numbers can seem overwhelming, but as a missionary statesmen once asked us, "How do you change the world?" and he then answered, "One person at a time." We can't have everyone come to Michigan to enjoy our water, but we have found a way to help? Joanne & I met up with a great group of people (Hope Water International - Northern Michigan Tribe) who run to raise awareness and funds for drilling wells in Kenya & Sierra Leone. In the last 5 years HWI has drilled over 100 wells impacting 100,000 to 200,000 people. We supported a good friend who ran with HWI last year and the Lord has put it on our hearts to do more.

We committed to run a half-marathon in hopes to raise awareness of the need and the finances to help meet that need. We would love to have you join us and our HWI Tribe in our efforts to drill more water wells.

Thank you so much!
